Job Summary
As the first Front End Engineer, you
will be building a mobile first, responsive front end using Facebook
React. You will be joining a small engineering and design team dedicated
to building exceptional experiences. You will be joining Current, an
Expa company in NYC, at an exciting time and will benefit from an
amazing peerset of personnel and companies.
After 10 years designing and building consumer services, the Expa team has identified many techniques that help create successful companies. We help companies avoid common pitfalls in early-stage ventures, and actively remove roadblocks along the way.
Responsibilities
- Build and own a progressively enhanced, future friendly website (Javascript, HTML, CSS)
- Build a live html pattern library / style guide
- Know your browsers, all those quirks, inside out
- Know your way around an API
- Be attentive to details: We craft with care and expect you to do the same
- Contribute to product strategy sessions around the future of payments
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years experience shipping code
- 3+ years working with Javascript
Preferred Qualifications
- Willingness to do what it takes to get things done
- A hunger for cutting-edge technology.
- Awareness of microseconds within animation and transitions
- Experience coming up with innovative, consumer-facing solutions in the financial sector
- Examples of thoughtful progressively enhanced details
- Heightened sensitivity for microseconds within animation and transitions
- Bonus points if you can also point towards anything cool you've made on Github / Codepen
- Degree in Computer Science or related field(s)
- Coming up with innovative solutions in the financial sector for consumers
- Confidence without an ego
- Familiarity with facebook react
